Avedon Fashion

Heading to the opening of Avedon Fashion: 1944-2000 at the International Center of Photography tonight, an exhibit of Richard Avedon's fashion portraits throughout the years.

Oh-so-thrilled!

...But not as thrilled to tell mon petit ami, "You know that photography exhibit we're going to? I forget to mention, it's a fashion exhibit."

Gourmet on-the-go:

Well, well, well. This ice cream may be the best--I repeat, THE BEST--I have ever had. And guess where I found it?...

On the street!

Sounds strange, I know. But picture this: an ice cream truck (think kids buying 75-cent popsicles) meets gourmet delicacy (think natural ingredients, grown-up flavors, etc.). These add up to the perfect, perfect, perfect combination that is Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream.

So yes, this gourmet ice cream truck is back in town--making my neighborhood a very, very happy one.

Emulation

Recent photo assignment: to emulate the style and tone of a distinguished photographer. I chose William Eggleston--known for making color photography a legitimate and gallery-worthy art form. I tried to capture saturated colors and quirky angles to pay homage to Eggleston's unique voice.
